Bacon Beef and Cheddar Sandwich
Bacon Beef ‘n Cheddar
Five in 25
Serves 4*
Five Ingredients
1 lb Thinly sliced roast beef
1 cup cheese whiz**
8 strips center cut bacon
4 onion hamburger buns or bulke rolls
½ cup chicken or beef stock
From the Pantry
4 T olive oil
Preheat oven to 375 F.
Lay bacon down on a foil lined sheet tray and bake for 15 minutes or until cooked through to your liking.
Brush each of your buns with 1 T olive oil and lightly toast in the oven. You want them warm and slightly golden but still soft to the bite.
In a skillet over medium heat, add in the stock and bring to a simmer. Turn off heat and add the slices of roast beef in individual pieces. Toss in the hot broth until the meat is warmed through. Heat up the cheese whiz in the microwave until it is hot.
Drain the cooked bacon thoroughly on paper towels.
To build, lay down 2 strips of bacon (broken in half) on the bottom of the bun followed by a generous mound of the warmed roast beef. Top with a generous drizzle of cheese sauce.
Serve immediately with chips or fries. Optionally add some horseradish sauce for a kick.
*As written each sandwich will have ¼ lb of roast beef and ¼ cup of cheese sauce.
**If you don’t like cheese whiz you could use a slice of cheddar or American cheese in substitution.
