Spaghetti with Meat Sauce

Five Ingredients
16 oz dry spaghetti
28 oz can crushed tomatoes
1 medium yellow onion
2 t Italian seasoning
1 lb lean ground beef
From the Pantry
2 T olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
Set a pot of salted water on to boil.
Dice the onion finely and add to a large skillet over medium heat with 2 T olive oil. Stir frequently until the onions just become softened (about 4-5 minutes). Add the garlic and Italian seasoning and stir to combine. Add the ground beef and cook until cooked through using a spoon or spatula to break the meat up as it cooks. Add the crushed tomatoes and season to taste with salt and pepper. Simmer over medium low heat for 10-15 minutes.
Cook the spaghetti per package directions.
To serve either add the cooked spaghetti to the meat sauce directly and stir to combine or plate the spaghetti and spoon the sauce over top.
Garnish with cheese and/or fresh herbs if desired.
