Sausage and Tortellini Skillet

24 oz store-bought marinara

1 lb sweet or hot ground Italian sausage

8 oz stuffed, fresh tortellini*

4 oz mascarpone cheese

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

From the Pantry

1 T olive oil

In a large skillet over medium heat add the olive oil and sausage. Break the sausage up into tiny pieces as it cooks. Once cooked, add the marinara and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 8-10 minutes over low heat.

Meanwhile, bring a pot of water to a boil and season with salt. Add the tortellini and cook 1-2 minutes less than the package directions.

Drain the tortellini and add to the sausage and marinara. Cook for 1-2 minutes allowing the pasta to finish cooking in the sauce. Dollop the mascarpone on top of the skillet and garnish with torn basil leaves. Serve family style.
